Stronger Local Economy

  • $270 million investment right here in Vermillion County
  • $23 million in new property tax revenue over 30-year life of the project. (after accounting for an abatement)
  • Proposed $5 million in economic development payment as county revenue. Flexible funds for local leaders to direct toward schools, roads, and community services

Direct Support for Neighbors

  • $96,000 already given to local nonprofits through 61 community grants.
  • A proposed $200,000 Community Fund for St. Bernice with $20,000 given each year for 30 years—an estimated $780,000 total for local projects
  • $115.8 million in operation payments to landowners over the project’s lifetime
  • More than $1.5 million in pre-construction landowner payments.

Good Jobs Close to Home

  • 400 jobs created during the 12–18 month construction period
  • White Construction selected to build the project
